Procurement Specialist
Location: Commerce, CA (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Pay Range: $29.57-$37.86 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to support our procurement operations by coordinating the sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of materials, equipment, and services needed for field projects, service work, and office operations.
In this role, you will work closely with project managers, field teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials and services are purchased efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, purchasing experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to support field operations, projects, and office needs.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Create, process, and track purchase orders and change orders within the company's procurement system.
- Monitor order status, confirm delivery schedules, and proactively follow up with vendors to resolve delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, approved supplier lists, pricing information, and contact details.
- Support warranty and return processes, including documentation, credit requests, and core return coordination.
- Research and source hard-to-find parts and identify alternative material options when necessary.
- Collaborate with shipping and receiving teams to verify deliveries, track shipments, and support inventory processes.
- Enter procurement data, invoices, and purchasing records accurately into company systems.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure project needs are met.
- Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and purchase order systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using ERP, purchasing, or procurement software.
- Experience in the construction, fabrication, mechanical services, or related industries.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or coursework in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience preferred.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday.
- Regular hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- One-hour lunch break
- Two paid rest breaks
- Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are required.
- Work is performed in a functioning fabrication facility environment.
